Product Care
At DUVISIONS CASA, our products are designed to bring comfort, style, and lasting quality into your home. Proper care and maintenance will help preserve the appearance, feel, and longevity of your furniture.
This guide provides general care instructions for leather and cloth/fabric products. For specific care requirements, please refer to the product details or speak with our team.
Leather Care
Our leather products are made using genuine leather, a natural material with its own unique texture, grain, and character. Each leather piece may vary slightly in colour, tone, markings, and surface finish, making every product unique.
With proper care, leather can age beautifully and develop a natural patina over time.
Regular Cleaning
Wipe leather surfaces regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and light marks. For light cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with clean water, then dry the area immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking the leather or allowing water to sit on the surface.
Do not use harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners, bleach, abrasive cleaners, or household detergents, as these may damage the leather finish.
Spills and Stains
Clean spills immediately by gently blotting the area with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this may spread the spill or damage the leather surface.
For stubborn marks or stains, we recommend seeking advice from a professional leather cleaning specialist. Avoid using strong cleaning products or DIY treatments without testing first on a hidden area.
Sunlight and Heat
Keep leather furniture away from direct sunlight where possible. Long-term exposure to sunlight may cause fading, drying, or colour changes.
Avoid placing leather products too close to heaters, fireplaces, air conditioning vents, or other heat sources, as excessive heat may dry out the leather and cause cracking over time.
Leather Conditioning
Leather may benefit from occasional conditioning to help maintain softness and prevent drying.
Always use a conditioner specifically designed for leather and test it on a hidden area first. Follow the product instructions carefully and avoid over-conditioning.
Cloth & Fabric Care
Cloth and fabric upholstery provides a soft, comfortable, and stylish finish. Regular care will help maintain its appearance and reduce everyday wear.
Regular Cleaning
Vacuum fabric surfaces regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust, lint, and loose particles.Pay attention to seams, corners, and edges where dust can collect. Avoid using hard brush heads or excessive pressure, as this may damage the fabric surface.
Spills and Stains
If a spill occurs, clean it as soon as possible. Gently blot the area with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel. Do not rub, as this may push the stain deeper into the fabric. For light marks, use a small amount of clean water on a soft cloth and gently blot the affected area. Avoid soaking the fabric.
For difficult stains, we recommend contacting a professional upholstery cleaner.
Avoid Excess Moisture
Do not over-wet cloth or fabric products during cleaning. Excess moisture may cause watermarks, odour, mould, or damage to the internal structure of the furniture.Allow the area to air dry naturally before using the furniture again.
Sunlight and Fading
Fabric colours may fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight. To help maintain the appearance of your furniture, avoid placing fabric products in direct sunlight for long periods.
Curtains, blinds, or window tinting can help reduce UV exposure in bright rooms.
Pilling and Everyday Wear
Some fabric products may develop minor pilling over time due to normal use, friction, or contact with clothing and bedding. This is a common characteristic of many woven fabrics and does not necessarily indicate a fault.Pilling can usually be removed carefully using a fabric pilling remover. Always use gently and avoid cutting or pulling threads.
